Rum Club: January 2022

Anyone that knows me knows I love my Rum. My favourites being Kraken and Dead Mans Fingers. I can't remember the last Birthday or Christmas where I didn't get a bunch of Rum to try and last year was no different!

I got a couple of bottles of Kraken, including the one below, which is the best looking bottle of Rum I have ever seen:

I got a Captain Morgan Gift Set which contained a mini bottle of Captain Morgan White Rum and Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold and then a set of 4 mini Rums, containing Kraken, Old J Spiced and then 2 Rums I'd never heard of before; Duppy Share and Cut to the Smoke.

Duppy Share is a mixed Jamaican and Barbadian aged rum, 3 years and 5 years respectively. This one was really nice, as soon as I opened the bottle, the smell of it was fantastic. I'll definitely be getting a bigger bottle of this! Looking at their website, they also do a Spiced Rum and a White Rum too, I'll have to sample both of them.

Cut to the Smoke is (as the same suggests) a Smoked Rum. This one I'm not so much of a fan of, the initial taste is okay but then it leaves a horrible aftertaste which tastes like you've inhaled well, a ton of smoke! I think I'll forget about this one. They do however, have a spiced rum called Cut to the Spice which I'll definitely have to try!

I'm actually tempted to buy a gift set each month from Amazon containing a bunch of small bottles of Rums I haven't tried and give them a go, it could be interesting and it's better than spending £20-£30 on a bottle that I don't end up drinking! Watch this space!
