Hey, I’m Jon! 👋
I’m a Senior Software Engineer at Visualsoft / VS Labs, where we’re on a mission to build the best apps on the marketplace. As a PHP developer, my main framework of choice is Laravel.
Beyond my day job, I’m deeply embedded in the tech community as a developer, open-source maintainer, and conference goer.
💻 Open Source & Community
I love giving back to the ecosystem. My open-source packages have been downloaded over 15,000,000 times, and my work has been featured multiple times on Laravel News.

🕹️ Beyond the Screen
When I’m not writing code, I’m usually listening to rock and heavy metal music or diving into a video game.
I’ll try almost any gaming genre, except sports games, where I’ve officially accepted defeat. You’ll usually find me on my Xbox Series X, but I also lose time to Hearthstone and Warcraft Rumble on my phone, or World of Tanks on my MacBook.
🌲 Life Outside of Tech
When it’s time to completely unplug, I have a few favourite ways to spend my time:
- Food: I love scouting out new local eateries. Indian, Italian, and Chinese are my go-tos (honourable mention to pretty much anything involving chicken).
- Geocaching: I get out at least once a week to hunt for caches, starting close to home and gradually working my way further afield.
- Sydney: Last but definitely not least, I love taking my Dachshund, Sydney, out for walks.
