Babylon Project
Halloween is almost upon us and that means, World of Tanks is gearing up for their Halloween event! If you need a reminder about the event from last year, you can check out my post below:
Earlier this week, Wargaming announced the Babylon Project which is the latest instalment in the Mirny saga. It's due to start on October 17th and run until November 2nd, which is just over 3 weeks to play and reap the rewards!
This time round, we're leaving Mirny-13 and travelling to a different research town called Babylon. I suspect the gameplay will be largely similar to last year perhaps with some different enemies and tank mechanics. If you remember Magnus from last year, then this year we get Magnus Prime which is:
An enhanced version of Magnus from Mirny-13, this powerful device is of top importance for the Babylon Project. It stores Mirium and facilitates the transition between the phases of subspace.
Wargaming haven't gave too much away about the mode, but this time round we are not only getting the classic Mirny that we all know and love, you know, collect Mirium, defeat the boss etc... we're also getting "Last Stand Mode" which sees us protecting the Babylon facility against waves on enemies, which sounds like a lot of fun! You can pick VIII tanks (except SPG's) from your Garage to play this mode and it'll be unlocked by progressing through the classic mode. I suspect it will unlock once you've completed classic mode on "Normal" difficulty.
Much like last year, there's a progression system and right at the end of it, you have the chance to unlock a new Tier VIII Premium Heavy for your garage called "Nergal". You can check out the stats below:
You may remember that last year, you could unlock "Obsidian" which I played a good bunch of games with and enjoyed the tank so I'll definitely be trying to unlock this one!
Wargaming also provided a look at the bosses we'll be facing and whilst they didn't tell us their names or give us any insight into their stats and abilities, they look like a menacing trio!
That's pretty much everything there is to know right now! The mode starts on October 17th and I'll be sure to post my thoughts about it once the mode has ended next month! If last year is anything to go by, Project Babylon is set to be even better!
