Tockwith Track Day

Today, I took a trip with my friend Dom to Tockwith Motor Sports Centre to go and drive some cars around a track! We'd both received track days as presents for our birthdays and mine was fast running out, so it's a good job we used them.

It was a fantastic day out and I'd recommend it for any petrol-head, even if you don't drive any of the cars, it's still a good atmosphere and there's plenty of areas to stand (or sit) to watch the cars go around the track.

My package originally had 3 cars with 3 laps each, but because they're there to make money, they'll try and upsell additional cars when you check in to the track, and they got me! 🤣

I can't actually remember the other 2 cars I selected when I signed up (you book your time slot and cars online) but one of them was the Batmobile. When we arrived though, I saw a Police Interceptor so I swapped those two around. I also loved the Fast and Furious Nissan GTR so I added that to my package too. The 4 cars I ended up driving were:

• Porsche 911 Spyder
• Fast and Furious Spec Nissan GTR
• Police Interceptor
• Subaru STI Spec C

My favourite car was definitely the Nissan GTR, it was so powerful, I was tempted to buy another 3 laps but my wallet fought against it! All 4 instructors I had were very friendly and the guy in the Police Interceptor is a retired traffic cop, so he was able to tell stories about his time on the road with these cars as it was his career.

I'd definitely go back again but of course I'd try out some different cars, although I think I'd have to take the GTR back out again!
